“Reasonably-priced hotel in a great area”
My husband and I, along with our two adult daughters were staying in the Flatiron area to be near a wedding venue. We couldn't afford two rooms for four nights, so The Lex's junior suite was the best and most affordable option. I compared it to The Giraffe, The Freehand, and Springhill Suites. The Lex offered two queen beds in a decent-sized space for a lower rate than the others. The location is great.
“Surprised it was so good”
The staff. The cleanliness and room size
“Way too expensive for a motel looking room”
The convenient location. Easy to walk to any places in mid town manhattan.
The rooms are not very nice. It looks more like a motel than a 3 star hotel. No hair driers in the rooms. The rooms are not welcoming. You can hear noise from the street and the other rooms. I had to sleep with earplugs. I expected more for $500 a night.
“Good”
Staff great. Beds comfortable.
Depends on the room you get but I switched rooms as the one I was given was bleak. The second room was super small but fine. Please note that the walls are thin between some rooms.
“Good for short trip”
Very convenient location, close to may good restaurants
Noisy air condition, the room is small and dark
“Great”
Comfortable bed. Reasonable breakfast. Friendly staff
When asked for room clean by door card- for it to be completed. Most days this was done just one day not. Window seal should be better for noise.
Pleasant
Linens were good, bed was fine, room was quiet.
Room was awkwardly laid out (weird little triangles with no room of any use) and I’ve never stayed somewhere more dark and depressing.

The complimentary breakfast wasn't memorable. You may want to skip it and walk up to Tatte on Park. The room is dark, the lighting is poor, and there were not enough electrical outlets.
